Seeing Hashem’s Kindness – Ki Savo

One Tuesday evening, my younger brother asked me to go biking with him. I had not been on a bike for two or three years. We started out, and I went ahead while he rang his bell behind me. I worried he would bump into me, so I kept going faster. I missed my turn and crashed into my father’s parked car. I got some injuries and the car was damaged, but it could have been much worse. I am so thankful to still be alive; my doctor even called it a nes.
In the torah, we read about how much Hashem loves His people. The prophet Hoshea asked why Bnei Yisroel should stay Hashem’s nation when they do not always listen. Hashem told Hoshea to marry a woman whose children might not be his. Hoshea loved them anyway. Hashem showed that even when we make mistakes, He still cares for us and keeps us close.
My accident reminded me of that love. Even in scary moments, Hashem watches over us. Sometimes we do not see it right away, but it is there. When we notice His kindness, we should thank Him and share it. This Shabbos, let's take two or three minutes to think about times Hashem has protected you or shown you kindness. Say “thank You” out loud. Even one sentence counts.
Good Shabbos
All the best
