As people in society, we have to realize that just because others may get rewards, privileges or just more regular attention, it doesn’t mean the things we do or have aren't special.
In this weeks Parsha, Parshas Vayeishev this scenario happened. Every day the brothers went out to the fields to watch the sheep, excluding Yosef due to jealousy. One day Yosef came out to the fields to reprimand his brothers. The brothers decided they had enough and sold him to a faraway land, hoping to never see him again. The brothers lost a key asset to the family and Yaakov lost his favorite son, all because of jealousy.
Jealousy causes confusion in love, friendship or even work, destroying yours and many other lives with it. Lets take a lesson from Yaakov by being happy with what we have. Not chas v'shalom putting bad thoughts against other people's property but thinking good. Therefore changing the world making it a better place reuniting us with our loved ones by bringing Moshiach Now.
