I Give Up - Pinchas

I give up! I give up on trying to live my life for the enjoyment of others, rather than the enjoyment of myself. I give up on setting expectations that others have for me, rather than living up to my own expectations. I give up on seeking validation from those who don't truly know me. I give up on sacrificing my own happiness to fit into someone else's idea of who I should be. I give up on letting fear dictate my choices instead of embracing my true desires.

In this week’s parsha, we read about Pinchas. Pinchas was an example of someone who stood up for his convictions. Pinchas acted decisively based on his beliefs, without waiting for approval or validation from others. It showed me that living authentically requires courage and a commitment especially in the face of adversity. Authenticity includes making decisions that reflect ones true self, even if they go against societal norms or expectations.

A lesson that I took from this parsha is that true fulfillment can only come from aligning our actions with our core values and beliefs. When we act with authenticity, we not only honor ourselves but also inspire others to do the same. Just as Pinchas took bold action to uphold what he believed was right, I too need to continue to live a life filled with authenticity, over the approval of others. Join me this week, as we give up together and become more authentic, happy people!
