Do Something For Your Heroes! - Ki Savo

Most people have someone they look up to. If that person came and asked you, specifically, to do something, you would do it in an instant. My chavrusa gave an example: If the Lubavitcher Rebbe came and asked us to do something, it would get done, without hesitation. The question then is, why would such a great person ask a favor from a regular person like me?

In this week’s parsha, Parshas Ki Savo, we see an answer to this question. The parsha starts off saying that when the B’nei Yisrael enter the land, they should possess it, and gather the first fruits for Hashem. Why would Hashem, the King of Kings, who created the world, and is in full control of it, need simple people to do something for Him?

We all know every single person is unique, special, and matters a whole deal to the world. A band without a drummer will not sound the same. The absence of just one person will affect the way the whole band sounds. If one Yid isn't functioning at his fullest, the Arizal Hakadosh says, it's like a body which is missing a part. So, when Hashem asks something of us, and along the same lines, if the Rebbe would ask me to do something, we are being shown that we really have the power to make a difference. Hashem believes in our power, and in turn, we should believe in Him.

This week, let us empower others to do good. Let's rejuvenate the body and heal the soul. Don't underestimate yourself, we are all tzadikim. By doing all this, hopefully we can take the meaningful actions to bring moshiach today!

Have an amazing shabbos!

All the best
