Moving Free - Parsha's Lech Lecha

The first words in this week's parsha, Parshas Lech Lecha are, “Go from your land, from your birthplace and from your father's house, to the land which I will show you” This is my favorite posuk because it shares a really cool message. In life, you may be in situations where you feel extremely comfortable, but at any moment, your situation can change with a need to move on. We could be annoyed by this uncertainty, or we can own up and be strong. This message means that wherever you go you have to trust in Hashem, that He is guiding us, no matter the circumstances.

This past monday was my Great-Grandmother’s Yartzeit. On that day, I tried to bring to mind as many memories as possible, so I could take a lesson from each one. I feel that one of her greatest accomplishments was coming to a new country and using the message of Lech Lecha to guide her forth. As the posuk says, “You will be rewarded with a great nation”, and baruch HASHEM I am here to tell the story as one of her descendents! The main reason I brought this up is because I want to stress that we have to feel strong, happy and confident with every move in life. Let's use this message as an inspiration in our daily life as a zechus that Malkah Yenta Bas Yehoshua have an aliyah with the coming of Moshiach!

Have a good shabbos!
