Life often tosses us into situations filled with pressure, stress, and challenges, testing our limits. However, it also gives us moments of happiness, accomplishment, and celebration. While success feels good, the challenges often feel like an uphill battle and can feel relentless. Lately, I've been thinking specifically about how to keep moving in tough times.
In this week's Parsha, Miketz, we read how Yosef faced his trials. As we read last week, he was imprisoned for doing the right thing. Despite the odds, Yosef not only did not succumb to despair, he made it through and became an influential person in the land. Life, like the seven years of plenty and seven years of hunger from the parsha, is a continuous cycle of highs and lows. While Yosef had the years of low, he also had the years of high. It was a reminder to me that, in the end, everything will be okay.
The lesson I gained from Yosef was very impactful to me, especially this week. Life and our journeys are filled with twists and turns, but understanding that challenges are part of the larger narrative helps me navigate the storm. It's a testament to the idea that, ultimately, everything works out. Life is about embracing the journey and having faith that our own stories will unfold in successful ways, even if we may not have initially imagined it that way.
Good Shabbos
All the best!
