Just Light The Candle - Bamidbar/Shavuot

This past week, I did an experiment by taking a bunch of candles and placing them in the center of a dark room. I then took one candle and lit all those candles. One may ask what was the experiment? Furthermore, what could you possibly learn from lighting a bunch of candles? The answer is that even one candle can light up many candles and make extreme amounts of light.
In this week's Parsha, Parshas Bamidbar, we learn that Hashem told the Jewish people to make a census. The emphasis in a census, as the Rebbe says, is the thousands or millions of individuals that come together as one nation as part of the same count. The emphasis is on each of these people with their individual strengths doing their best to light up the world.
The mission this weekend with the upcoming holiday of Shavuos is to be a candle and inspire the world. Hashem openly gave us a present of the Torah. The Hayom Yom says that with the power of the Torah we can all rise up to be higher than where golus could possibly hope to reach us. Hashem knows we could inspire the world and, like the experiment of one candle, we could light up the world!
Good shabbos! All the best
